Casual placements are available for experienced Electrical Spotters (Safety Observers) on civil, infrastructure and utility projects in Brisbane and across South East Queensland.
Key responsibilities
- Observe plant and work near overhead powerlines and underground electrical services as the designated safety observer
- Watch exclusion zones and approach distances for excavators, cranes, tippers, concrete pumps and elevated work platforms
- Warn operators and stop the job before plant, loads or people can enter an exclusion zone
- Take part in pre-starts and toolbox talks and confirm the services in play with operators
- Report hazards, incidents and near misses to the site supervisor
What we're looking for
- Safety observer / electrical spotter training for work near overhead and underground electrical services
- Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Previous spotting or safety observer experience on civil, infrastructure or utility sites
- Able to read site plans and BYDA plans and identify services and exclusion zones
- Fit for physically demanding outdoor work, long periods standing, all weather
- Reliable transport and a current driver licence
- Right to work in Australia
- Available for casual work in Brisbane and willing to travel to regional projects when required
